Otztaler Heimat und Freilicht Museum

Langenfeld, Austria
June 2001

Florian drove us to Langenfeld, directly to the wonderful Otztaler Heimat und Freilicht Museum. The sun was shining; slender, flashing waterfalls tumbled down the mountain faces and the musem sat invitingly just off the main town square. I found it hauntingly similar to the Museum of Appalachia in my home state of Tennessee. One knows with the strongest sense just how hard these people worked for shelter, clothing, and food.
